    SMV 2020

Black and white pepper with muted red fruit and allspice on the nose. There is a finely balanced structure and subtle interplay between the acidity and ripe
tannins. Delicate plushness in the long, dry finish with just a hint of oak.

    Ovidius Tempranillo 2020

The name pays homage to the Roman poet, Ovid, who is quoted on the front label of this wine: “Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it there will be a fish.”

The nose is robust with generous, ripe dark fruit; black cherry and rose. The oak plays an important supporting role, both with the aromatics and the palate. The wine is bold and rich, but at the same time bright and effortlessly structured. Firm, savoury tannins lead into a remarkably long, textured finish.
Cellar for up to 20 years from vintage.

    Ghost Gum Red 2021

Greg Sherwood MW: “The 2021 Ghost Gum Cabernet Sauvignon is yet another stunning expression from one of the best red wine vintages the Cape winelands have seen since 2017, 2015 and 2009. The aromatics are delightfully vibrant and fragrant revealing notes of violets, sage, potpourri, sweet black currant, black cherries, and subtle notes of cedar spice, tilled earth and a dusty granitic minerality. In the mouth, the wine is luxuriously rich, fleshy, and textural, coating the palate with creamy crème de cassis, stewed black plum fruits and sweet, dense, silky tannins all underpinned by sumptuously soft integrated acids. An incredibly harmonious wine with a finessed balance and a pristine black fruited concentration kissed with a hint of chocolate praline and spearmint on the finish. A triumphant wine for the Franschhoek fine wine scene. Drink on release and over the next 10+ years.”
